Moving an assembly to the origin

Postby Cubit User » Wed Jul 25, 2012 4:21 pm

I have a cylindrical assembly that I imported from SoldWorks. Currently, the origin is not related to anywhere sensible on the part. I would like to move the entire assembly (with current distance relations intact) so that the axis of the cylinders run through the origin and that one of the ends is coincident with the origin. While I was able to move the entire part so that the XZ plane was coincident with the bottom of the cylinder, I am having trouble identifying where the center of the circles lies in order to translate it. Can you help?

A simple way would be

move surface <id> midpoint location 0 0 0 <include_merged>
